《古文尚書》、《古文春秋》、《古文論語注》三書舊鈔本皆題宋王應麟撰,然歷來學者對此頗多質疑。筆者赴各圖書館彙攷三書現存各批本,詳錄各批本特徵,考索各本間的關係,推求清儒撰述之底册。認爲此三書確非清儒所輯。又綜考王應麟的學行和著述,以爲三書屬王氏應考及撰述之資料長編。清儒如惠棟、嚴蔚、宋翔鳳、陳鳣等依傍王應麟舊輯本,續加補治而刊行之,然諸家多隱没王應麟舊輯本之助益。此三種輯本爲清代輯佚考據學之嚆矢,清儒研治三書古義能後出轉精,實蒙王應麟輯本膏澤甚多。
