1982年9月18日12时19分,在北京海军医院的一间病房里,一位伟大科学家的心脏停止了跳动,终年79岁.他就是名闻中外的裴文中教授.裴文中是中国科学院学部委员、中国自然科学博物馆协会理事长、中国考古学会副理事长、中国古生物学会名誉理事、北京自然博物馆馆长.他的逝世,引起了全世界的博物馆学、地质学、古生物学、考古学、人类学等学界的科学家和广大人民群众的悲痛,深切悼念这位科学巨星的殒落.
At 12:19 on September 18, 1982, in the ward of the Beijing Naval Hospital, the heart of a great scientist stopped beating at the age of 79. He is a famous Pei Wenzhong professor at home and abroad. Pei Wenzhong is a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Academician, chairman of China Association of Natural Science Museum, vice chairman of Chinese Archeology Association, honorary director of the Chinese Society for Paleontology, curator of the Beijing Museum of Natural History.
