The most famous Chinese engraving machine maker in late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China was Luigi Giorgi, an Italian employed by the Mint. Concerning others, I wrote an article in ”The Chinese Coin,“ 2005 (4) (No. 91). However, the lack of so-called first-hand information at the time did not interrupt the idea of in-depth discussion.
