稀土在钢中所起的作用概括起来有:变性作用;脱硫作用;脱气作用及合金化作用。稀土加入钢中后,可形成新的晶核,增加表面张力和过冷能力,并能在增长的新相析出的表面上形成阻碍它们增长的吸附膜。如鞍钢生产的低合金钢16Mn钢板,过去冲压不合格的比例较大,采用加入稀土工艺后,使连轧钢板的条状硫化物变为球状,改善了钢板纵横向性
Rare earth in the role of steel can be summed up in: denaturation; desulfurization; degassing and alloying effect.
