《中国京剧》就要问世了。这是去年纪念徽班进京200周年,振兴京剧观摩演出活动之后结出的硕果,是党中央提出弘扬民族优秀文化战略的具体实施。有了这个刊物,就能够更好地研究、探讨和宣传京剧这颗璀璨的明珠,绚丽的国宝,使它在理论上更加系统、全面和科学,从而指导京剧艺术的实践,使之富于生机和朝气,摆脱困境。因此,我觉得京剧在艺术上要强调两点,一要继续发挥戏曲综合性的优势,二要回到民间去。戏曲是综合艺术,综合性是戏曲的特征之一,京剧在戏曲艺术里的综合性是最突出的。京剧在它的孕育期徽班阶段,无论是戏曲音乐、唱腔、剧目、表演、特技等方面,都比当时的昆班和其它地方戏班完备、丰富,它甚至“班是徽班,调是汉调”,兼收并蓄,广采博纳,不但吸收古老昆曲的音乐、唱腔和曲牌,
