《中学语文》创刊于1958年,由现代义学先驱茅盾题写刊名。1978年复刊时,语文大师叶圣陶题词,最先传播出“教是为了达到不需要教”的教育思想。现由湖北省教育厅主管,湖北大学又学院主办。现为旬刊。上旬刊一贯坚持渗透开放思维,体现教改精神,提升教师素质的办刊宗旨,注重文化品位,推介前沿的语文教育指导
