In this article, Chur uses semiotic and non-semiotic approaches to characterize the ecosystem by comparing two different science-semiotics and physics methods proposed by John Locke. The most important difference between physics and semiotics lies in the fact that the existence of physical reality is unique. We can confirm it through repeated repetition. The existence of semiotic reality is diverse. We need to study these different semiotic worlds as unique individuals . With regard to the symbolic domain, Chur gives 17 complementary definitions in the text, where the symbolic domain is a qualitative (not co-quantifiable) diversity space. There is a paradox here: diversity creates exchanges, while excess communication can destroy diversity.
