In this paper,a systematic and novel approach is developed for the dyadic operation of the dyadicGreen’s functions(DGF).The complete forms of the dyadic operation of DGF for circular waveguidesare given.Ambiguities associated with the dyadic operation in the literatures are clarified and theerrors are redressed.Contrary to Kisliuk(1980,1983),it is shown that the expansion of the longitudinal vectoreigenfunctions L and the expansion of the transverse vector eigenfunctions M and N are not purelylongitudinal and transverse fields at the source region. In addition,it is also shown that interchangingdifferential and integral operators to work out the dyadic operation of DGF is invalid at the sourcezegion(Tai,1973).
In this paper, a systematic and novel approach is developed for the dyadic operation of the dyadic Green’s functions (DGF). The complete forms of the dyadic operation of DGF for circular waveguidesare given. Ambiguities associated with the dyadic operation in the literatures are clarified and the errors are redressed. Contrary to Kisliuk (1980, 1983), it is shown that the expansion of the longitudinal vectoreigenfunctions L and the expansion of the transverse vector eigenfunctions M and N are not purely longitudinal and transverse fields at the source region. In addition, it is also shown that interchangingdifferential and integral operators to work out the dyadic operation of DGF is invalid at the source zegion (Tai, 1973).
