Five acetylferrocenacylhydrazone polycondensates were synthesized using 1 , l’-diacetylferrocene and hydride as the raw materials. Among them two polycondensates of structures (i) and (v) are soluble in dimethylfor-mamide, dimethyl acetamide and dimethyl sulfoxide, and are the organometalhc polymers with the highest Mn and Mw up to now. Besides, the influence of different Lewis acids and high dose γ-60Co irradiation upon yields, molecular weight and properties of polycondensates were studied by infrared spectrum, thermogravimetric analysis-differential thermal analysis and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry.
