The French Rapid Action Medical Team was established on the French government’s decision. Under the direct leadership of the French Ministry of Health, it undertakes the emergency medical rescue, evacuation and certain humanitarian tasks of peacetime disasters. Since its establishment, the medical team has successively implemented disaster relief or humanitarian missions in Gabon, Peru, Jordan, Nicaragua, the Comoros, Somalia, Chad and Cameroon.
