在合肥《包孝肃公祠》之殿堂的东西(左右)两壁,各立有石硪碑一块。左壁的石碑上刻着包公所作五言律诗,为迄今留下来的包拯唯一的文学作品。据包拯的门生张田记述,这是包公作官时为自己立下的处世为人的座右铭,是指导他一生为官的准则。诗文如下:
In Hefei, “Bao Xia Su Gong Temple,” the hall of things (about) two walls, each with a stone tablet. Inscribed on the left wall of the stone tablet made by the five-character law, for the only Bao Zheng so far the only literary works. According to Zhang Zheng, the official of Bao Zheng, it is the motto of his life that he set himself as the official of the Bao Gong and the guiding principle for his life. Poems are as follows:
