栖霞县寨里公社丰粟大队果园队,为了解决青香蕉苹果的“大小年”问题,自1975年开始,进行了看花定果的疏花试验。试验设在两株青香蕉苹果树上,对其中一株采取以花定果,每年按树势、肥水等管理条件来确定其负载量,而另一株则不予疏花果,保持自然结实,1976年又增加两棵试验树。试验至今已历9年,结果看出,苹果树看花定果,合理负荷,认真抓好疏花疏果,是保证树体健壮、丰产稳产高效益的重要措施。丰粟大队果园队1975年疏花疏果的对比结果列于表1。由表1可看出,疏花疏果树的产量、果实等级率、单果重、翌年花枝率等指标,均明显高于对照树。尽管对照树结果数量多,但由于其果实质量变差,致使经济收入降低。
