November 6-7 The first Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Conference (APEC) was held in the Australian capital of Canberra. Australia, the United States, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea and the 6 ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand) as foreign ministers and economic ministers.
