海南省农垦科学院是海南省农垦总局(总公司)直属的公益性科研事业单位,选育出文昌217、文昌11、海垦2等一大批优良橡胶品种,在橡胶选育种和橡胶种苗生产方面具有雄厚的技术实力。该院现有保亭热带作物研究所和文昌橡胶研究所2个橡胶种苗基地,近年来,在种苗基地基础设施建设、新品种推广应用和新型苗木开发等方面取得了长足的发展。
