越南人民反美爱国的英勇斗争和辉煌胜利,激励着我国戏剧工作者以革命的战斗热情,在很短的时间内,编写了大批歌颂越南人民伟大斗争,揭露美帝国主义滔天罪行的戏剧。北京人民艺术剧院创作并演出的《誓死保卫租国》(又名《老觉》),是其中比较优秀的剧目之一。美帝国主义及其走狗为了侵占越南,维护他们在越南南方的血腥统治,对越南人民进行了疯狂的掠夺、无耻的迫害和野蛮的屠杀。他们妄想用皮鞭、刺刀、电刑,甚至凝固汽油弹和化学毒药等杀人武器,扑灭越南南方人民反抗斗争的烈火,并疯狂地轰炸越南北方,扩大战争,向全世界革命人民挑衅,
The heroic and glorious victories of the anti-US patriotic people of Vietnam have inspired our country’s theater workers to write revolutionary drama and enthusiasm and, in a very short period of time, have compiled a large number of plays that celebrate the great victories of the Vietnamese people and expose the heinous crimes of the U.S. imperialists. One of the more outstanding repertoires is the “Vows to Save the Country” (aka “Lao Jue”), created and performed by the Beijing People’s Art Theater. In order to occupy Vietnam and safeguard their bloody rule in southern Vietnam, the U.S. imperialists and their lackeys carried out a frenzied looting, shameless persecution and a brutal slaughter on the Vietnamese people. They vainly used the leather whips, bayonets, electric punctures and even kills weapons such as petrol bombs and chemical poisons to put down the fiery fire of the Vietnamese people in the resistance struggle and frantically bomb the northern Vietnam, expand the war and provoke the revolutionary people throughout the world.
