诸佛甩手揖(俗称踩戏)为土家摆手舞的雏形,是青年男女结婚、老人寿辰或祭奠亡灵活动中的一种舞蹈形式。诸佛甩手揖是在拱手作揖的人生礼仪基础上发展起来的舞蹈,是诸佛乡独有的礼仪习俗文化现象,一般用于庆典、祈福等,也有用作祭祀活动的。
