Two years ago,it was found that the RNA expressed from the promoter in the 3-untranslated region (UTR) of a gene,i.e.independent 3-UTR RNA,exists widely in human,mouse,and fly [1].We have found that an RNA from the 3-UTR of C/EBPβgene is a tumor suppressor [2-7].Because in our experiments this RNA is artificially introduced into malignant cells,until recently it was not clear if the RNA from C/EBPβ 3-UTR,i.e.independently expressed C/EBPβ3-UTR RNA,naturally exists in human cells.
