6月29日,全球第三大半导体厂商株式会社瑞萨科技(Renesas Tech-nology Corp)在上海宣布设立全资子公司——瑞萨半导体管理(中国)有限公司。紧接着,从7月9日-19日,瑞萨在上海、北京、深圳、厦门、青岛五地展开了规模盛大的瑞萨解决方案研讨会,青岛为最后一站。提起瑞萨,大多数人可能觉得陌生,但说起日立和三菱电机,许多人会很熟悉。瑞萨科技就是2003年4月1日由日立公司及三菱电机的两半导体部门合并成立。尽管成立才15个月,2003年其销售额就位居世界第三(市场占有率4.4%),在日本国内高居第一。据新成立的瑞萨半导体管理(中国)有限公司的董事长、总裁小仓节生先生介绍,之前瑞萨科技已经在国内投资300亿日元,以后三年之内,瑞萨科技还计划再投资300亿日元。主要目的是布局和完善“大中国工程”。
