About the life and writing of the famous Swedish writer Hjalmar S derberg (1869-1941), we have made a brief introduction in the first issue of 1992, The Vicar’s Cows. Soderberry’s novels today are still very contagious, as they are all based on everyday matters. In Pastor’s Dairy, the author, of all colors, chose the protagonist, usually a pious pastor, not to prejudice the pastor as an atheist but to enhance the novel’s sense of humor. In fact, the pastor chosen by the author is a sincere and upright person, and for the mistakes made by the pastor, the author also points out in the text that this is an excuse for being negligent or defective. The Cleric’s Dairy was translated from Modern Swedish Short Stories, which was published in 1934.
