本文作者赵先(1916~),女,江苏溧阳人,1933年参加革命,次年加入中国共产党,解放后曾主管上海的妇联工作。文中另一主人公路丁(1910~2005),本名宋书模,又名王尧山,1931年加入中国共产党,解放后曾任上海市委组织部副部长、部长,市委常委、秘书长。上世纪30年代,赵先与路丁因从事党的地下工作而结识,从相知到相爱,成为一对患难与共的革命夫妻,并租住在上海戈登路(今江宁路)的一条小弄堂的三层阁楼上(上海话俗称亭子间)。正是在这间简陋、狭小的亭子间里,赵先夫妇参与接待了赫赫有名的鲁迅、胡风,这段“见识名人自难忘”的特殊经历,也影响了他们后半生的命运……
