我县位于湘南丘陵地区。全县7个区,1个镇,46个公社,89万人口,有耕地76万亩,山林152万亩,其中油茶林70万亩。在毛主席无产阶级革命路线指引下,全县人民坚持学理论,抓路线,深入批林批孔,斗敌批资,艰苦奋斗,自力更生,大干社会主义,不断发展了革命、生产的大好形势。1971年以来,连续四年,粮食生产上《纲要》,茶油产量创纪录,年平总产达到745万斤。其它牧、副业也都有很大发展。对国家的贡献相应增加。在人平耕地和油茶面积都只有8分的情况下,四年共向国家提供商品粮34,100万斤,商品油1,510万斤。支援了国家社会主义建
