绥农8号是省农科院绥化农科所于90年以绥农4号为母本经选育而成。1989年2月经省品种审定委员会审定命名推广。1990～1992年同时被省政府和农业部列为重点推广品种。1992年又被国家科委列入国家级重点推广品种。1993年获省政府科技进步二等奖。
