金华双龙洞的沉积物中含有大量第四纪古脊椎动物化石。经鉴定计有9目24科52个种的动物化石,系浙江境内乃至华南地区迄今发现的最大的一个大熊猫——剑齿象动物群(广义)。其时代属晚更新世晚期。
Sediments in the Jinlong Shuanglong Cave contain a large number of Quaternary ancient vertebrate fossils. There are 9 species, 24 families and 52 species of animal fossils identified. It is the largest group of giant pandas - Stegodon fauna (broad sense) ever discovered in Zhejiang Province and even in southern China. Its era is Late Late Pleistocene.
