Bayer CropScience and Monsanto Exchange Partial Patent Right to Use Pesticides Monsanto and Bayer CropScience AG have signed a long-term exchange of patent right to use herbicides and pesticides technology agreement. Under the agreement, Monsanto will be granted a non-exclusive license to Bayer CropScience’s patent on transgenic technology for glyphosate-resistant grain and soybeans, and will also be allowed to sell such grains and seeds. The terms of the agreement also include the sharing of anti-insect technology, such as modifying non-exclusive license agreements with respect to Monsanto’s proprietary technology for the Bayer CropScience Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) technology.
