张家界之美,惊世骇俗。天子山、黄龙洞、金鞭溪……处处都是大自然的神奇杰作,并广为世人所知。现在,美妙绝伦的张家界在尽显山水容颜的同时,也开始向世人展示其风景的厚度,流传千年的桑植民歌、曼妙的少数民族风情,它们是张家界的另外一张面孔,是风景张家界背面的民歌张家界。这种变化,来自于人们对旅游需求的质变。当风光不再成为出行的决定性因素时,内在的、文化的力量开始生长。这也是张家界在思考的问题,能不断吸引游客蜂拥而至的,绝不是标准化的五星级酒店,及经人工雕琢后的日益趋同的自然景观,真正有生命力的是原生态的风土人情。而只有民族的张家界,才是世界的张家界。
