当今时代,我国的社会意识形态领域存在着主流意识形态与支流意识形态的消极因素、反动的逆流意识形态的斗争,这使新时期党的思想政治教育面临着新的课题。由于思想政治教育与主流意识形态有着共同的思想体系和社会属性,它为主流意识形态的形成奠定了坚实的思想基础,并且借助于主流意识形态的推动作用增强自身的实践效果,因此,通过发挥思想政治教育的功能,保证主流意识形态的正确方向,引导和规范支流意识,反对和抵制逆流意识,促进积极、健康、向上的主流意识形态,更好地服务于全面落实科学发展观和建设小康社会、和谐社会的战略目标。
