安徽省图书馆藏有孙艺孙先生手札一通,内容为推荐苏曼殊到安徽师范学堂任英文及图画教师,希望得到“大公祖大人”额外补助苏曼殊薪俸一事。邓艺孙为苏曼殊好友,1909年作此信,当时邓艺孙五十三岁,苏曼殊二十六岁。此信约六百字,对苏曼殊的生平及部分成就有阐述。信中内容还涉及杨文会、姚永概等人,对研究苏曼殊及相关人物有一定价值。原文如下:
Anhui Provincial Library possesses a handwritten letter made by Mr. Sun Yisun. The content is that Su Manshu is recommended to be an English teacher and drawing teacher at Anhui Teachers College, hoping to obtain the extra allowance of “Sukien Scholars” for “Grand Duzuzu”. Deng Yisun was a friend of Su Manshu and wrote this letter in 1909 when Deng Yi-sun was 53 and Su Man-shu was 26. This letter is about six hundred words, on Su Manshu’s life and some achievements have elaborated. The letter also covers Yang Wenhui, Yao Yongjiu and others who have some value in studying Su Manshu and related characters. The original text is as follows:
