通过对中央研究院派遣庚款留荷档案史料的挖掘和梳理,厘清了留荷生的考选、学习、管理、服务、归属、经费的分配和使用等情况,认为留荷生取得优异的成绩,除因个人努力和在国内高等教育期间成绩优秀外,与中央研究院的严格选拔和管理有着密切的关系。在留荷生的考选和派遣过程中,中央研究院在学科、名额、人选、实习单位的选择和确定等各个环节,征询、采纳了国内外多名专家、学者的意见,从而确保了选拨的公正性和科学性;对留荷生的管理,则因驻荷公使金问泗以外交使节和中荷文化基金董事会董事的双重身份,就近参与和协助而更具成效。庚款留荷生虽然仅有5人,但从整体上看,他们取得的学业成绩和事业成就,与庚款留美、留英生相比毫不逊色。

During the examinations and dispatching of the Dutch students, the Central Research Institute consulted and adopted many experts and scholars at home and abroad in various fields such as the selection of disciplines, places, candidates and internships so as to ensure the success of the election The impartiality and scientific nature of the administration of overseas students; and the more effective participation and assistance due to the dual identities of the Ambassadors Jin Qusi, the diplomatic envoys and the board directors of the Sino-Dutch Cultural Foundation. Although there are only 5 students in G-7, the academic achievements and career achievements they make, as a whole, are comparable to those of G-grade students in the United States and those of British students.
