标准化是现代组织生、促进技术进步、实现科学管理的重要手段。在社会主义四化建设中，推动标准化是我国一项重要的技术经济政策，中华人民共和国的标准化法的实施，使我国的标准化工作进入了一个依法管理的崭新阶段。文献工作标准化是标准工作的一个新领域，其目的是使文献工作走向标准化，系列化和通用化，以达到文献信息交换和资源共享的要求。特别是在科技极其发达和科技期刊种类繁多的情况下，作为科技期刊，即是学术交流的园地，就更应该讲究统一，以便以国际交流，行业交流。
Standardization is an important means of modern organizing students, promoting technological progress and realizing scientific management. In the course of building the socialist Four Modernizations, promoting standardization is an important technical and economic policy in our country. The implementation of the Standardization Law of the People’s Republic of China has brought the standardization work of our country into a brand-new stage of legally administering. The standardization of document work is a new field of standard work. Its purpose is to standardize, serialize and generalize documentary work in order to meet the requirements of document information exchange and resource sharing. Especially in the extremely advanced science and technology and a wide range of sci-tech periodicals, as sci-tech periodicals, that is, academic exchanges, even more should pay attention to unity in order to international exchanges and trade exchanges.
