研究世界当代史,对于我们国人了解当今世界的风云变幻、了解我们国家在世界大环境中所处的位置,了解经济和文化等与世界接轨以后带给我们自身的影响等等,无疑是有着十分积极的作用.然而,这项研究的进行是有相当难度的:首先,它要在错综复杂的国际形势中发现主流、发现有规律的东西;其次,它要从大量而无序的各类文献中梳理出翔实而有较高价值的资料;第三,它要求研究者头脑清醒、目光敏锐、判断正确,并且有一定的预见性;最后,它在论述上还要注意观点、视角、论证过程等的客观新颖,以避免读者把它混同于庸俗的政治宣传.
