In regard to the development and reform of industrial enterprises in Guangzhou and the establishment of a modern enterprise system, I would like to discuss three points of view. I. The status and role of Guangzhou’s industry in the national economy The main indicator of the economic development level of a country and a region today is the gross national product, or gross domestic product (GDP). Guangzhou is striving to develop into an international metropolis, and building a modern international metropolis involves economics, culture, health, education, etc. Therefore, we should regard GDP as a comprehensive index to inspect the socio-economic development of Guangzhou. In 1993, the GDP of Guangzhou reached RMB 74 billion. The average per capita is 11,600 yuan (based on 6.3 million people), and it ranks among the top cities in China. In 1994, the GDP of Guangzhou reached 97 billion yuan, an increase of 20% over the previous year, and the per capita GDP of the city reached 15,000 yuan, achieving the end of this century in advance. According to a 15-year development plan in Guangzhou, Guangzhou’s GDP will reach 200 billion yuan by 2005, and the per capita GDP will reach 26,000 yuan by the time of the population. GDP is a quantitative concept of socio-economic development. From its composition, we can analyze which industries are supporting the economic development of Guangzhou and which industries need to be developed. In 1993, the 14 major industries in Guangzhou accounted for the proportion of the city’s GDP: the first was industry, which accounted for 41%; the second was wholesale, retail, and catering, accounting for 11.7%; and the third was the traffic, post and telecommunications industry. , accounting for 9.7%; fourth is the financial and insurance industry. 9.4%; fifth place is agriculture, accounting for 6.4%; sixth place is construction industry, accounting for 6.2%; seventh place is residential service industry, accounting for 5%; eighth place is real estate industry, accounting for 3.3%; The fourth is scientific research, accounting for 0.3%. From its composition can be?
