为贯彻江泽民同志“三个代表”重要思想，湖北省谷城县在全县党员干部中开展了“让党放心、让人民满意的新时期公仆形象”大讨论。近3年，谷城县曾发生党员干部各种违法乱纪案件146起，处分181人。为此，县委常委达成共识：开展大讨论，进一步增强党的凝聚力、战斗力、感召力。
In order to implement Comrade Jiang Zemin’s important thinking of the ’Three Represents,’ Gucheng County, Hubei Province, conducted a grand discussion among party members and cadres in the county on the issue of “making the party reassuring and satisfying the people in the new era of public servants.” In the past three years, Gucheng County party cadres and various cases of law and discipline occurred in 146 cases, punishing 181 people. To this end, the Standing Committee of the county reached a consensus: to carry out major discussions, and further enhance the cohesion, combat effectiveness and charisma of the party.
