伦敦泰晤士报(Times)不但是英国的而且也是世界的最大报纸之一.本年二月二十六日为其创刊一百五十年纪念日.该报曾出版特刊,以作纪念,我们现在也从那里面节译几段,以供读者明了这一个半世纪以来左右世界舆论的大报纸的事绩.不过这儿应指出的,就是原文中夸奖泰晤士的报态度,如何「公正不偏」, 其情报如何「完全与正确」,其主张如何「代表大众利益」云云,并不完全的合乎客观的事实.我们知道自廿世纪初以来,该报就成了英国保守党的喉舌,因而它往往所发的议论,早已失了「公正不遍」的态度了.
