To investigate the effect of tumor resection on the anti-tumor immune activity of lung cancer patients, the peripheral blood lymphocyte phenotype and NK cell treatment changes in 36 lung cancer patients were detected by indirect immunofluorescence staining flow cytometry analysis. Results The number of CD3, CD4 cells, NK cells and the ratio of CD4/CD8 were lower than normal controls, and CD20 cells increased. After surgical removal of the tumor, the numbers of CD3, CD4 cells, NK cells, and CD4/CD8 in patients with non-metastasis lung cancer were significantly higher, approaching normal levels, and there was less increase in NK cells in patients with tumor metastases, which was not statistically different from preoperative ones. Patients with no metastasis suggest that the immunosuppression is mild and their prognosis is better than those with metastases. Tumor resection can promote recovery of immune function.
