There is evidence that petroleum hydrocarbons can be generated from the thermal conversion of dry Logan via geothermal heating. In this study, we isolated the dry roots, humic acid and lipid (benzene-methanol extract) from a young marine sediment (the Tanner Basin, California) and placed them in a nitrogen-filled closed Glass tube heating. Each tube is heated at a temperature between 150-410 ° C for a period of 5-120 hours and the resulting gas, liquid product (benzene-methanol extract) and the remaining organic material are heated by gas-liquid chromatography, Elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy (ESR) and X-ray diffraction.
