When Kennedy became the president of the United States 25 years ago, space competition had begun. The U.S. economy entered a period of recovery and the computer industry developed rapidly. From now on, 25 years later, people will live in a new information age. Although there are still many uncertainties, the picture of our future society is overshadowed. However, we can already feel the impact that the new information age will have on people’s work. For the world of work, the information age has arrived. This may have no doubt. Every day, when people use mobile phones while driving to work, people feel the information age when they work in an electronic office and when they go home and turn on their personal computers to do “homework.” Every time we think of “work,” a picture of a factory with a chimney in the Ohio Valley comes to mind. Governors of various states in the United States used Silicon Valley as their model of efficiency in their industrial planning.
