在日伪的殖民统治时期,由于日伪打着“民族协和”、“建设王道乐土”的招牌,推行对鄂伦春族逐渐灭绝的政策,使鄂伦春族人民受到严重的摧残,过着非人的生活,人口逐年减少。但是,鄂伦春族人民有着光荣的反抗外敌入侵,维护中华民族统一的传统和斗争精神,特别是积极支援、参加东北抗日联军,直接与日伪军警宪特进行不屈不挠的斗争,为中国的抗日战争做出了不可磨灭的贡献。
