At the invitation of the China Association for Science and Technology, an American architect delegation headed by Dr. Donald Terner organized by the American International People’s Association visited Nanjing in September this year. During the visit, the Civil and Architectural Society of Jiangsu Province once asked for an academic symposium on housing issues with Chinese construction workers. At this meeting, American friends introduced the housing situation in the United States. The contents of the discussion can be mainly summarized as follows: (1) The United States first encountered land tense in the development of urban housing, so it is generally used to increase the number of floors to build high-rise buildings.
