PKB / Akt, a serine / threonine protein kinase, is a target protein downstream of phosphoinsitide-3-kinase (PI3K) and is a central part of the PI3K / AKT signaling pathway. This pathway involved in the development of a variety of tumors [1]. PKB / Akt is involved in the regulation of cell survival, apoptosis, expansion, the occurrence of malignant tumors and chemoresistance. PKB / Akt is highly expressed in ovarian cancer, and its activation can inhibit the apoptosis of ovarian cancer cells, which is involved in the occurrence, development, invasion and metastasis of ovarian cancer. Dan et al [2] studies have shown that ovarian cancer resistance to cisplatin and Akt overexpression and activation. This article reviews the relationship between PKB / Akt and ovarian cancer.
