The United States Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is studying the design of a new type of maglev train system using permanent magnets instead of electromagnets. The new system has the advantage of not requiring expensive superconductors and complex feedback circuits. At present, maglev train systems all over the world basically use electromagnets to generate magnetic force to make the train float on orbit. The disadvantage is that the magnetic force needs to be generated by external power. Once the power supply is interrupted, the maglev train will fall back into orbit. Maglev train when the speed reached 500 kilometers or more easily lead to accidents.
