英语中表示“说”的概念的动词非常丰富,数量很多。这些词虽都在表示“说”这个总的概念方面是一致的,但它们却同中有异,在语义上、情感上及文体上都存在着不同程度的区别。适当地选择和使用这些词,可以有效地增强语言表达的准确性,使语句鲜明、生动、简练,增强语言表达效果。一、增强语言的准确性1.“They haven’t made a dent,yet,”concludes apolice officer.conclude—state a view based on reasoning“他们还没有开始动手呢,”其中一个警官推断说。2.“Please give me another 5 dollars.”the clerkadded,“The watch is 105 dollars now.”
