Expert review and quality control are central aspects of medical editing. The Journal of the American Medical Association is an international journal that is published in the United States. Therefore, this article is the United States point of view. The purpose of medical editing is to select, optimize and disseminate medical papers and to promote the development of medical and medical techniques so that doctors, more importantly, benefit patients. According to the survey, the American doctors consider journals as the most important, practical and effective source of information and regard them as role models. The information should be quality controlled. The editorial process should be viewed as the “black box” between the manuscript and the publication of the journal. Open the point of view, reviewers can be divided into two stages. Editor review, the quality of manuscripts to be assessed, and consider its applicability to readers, non-users will be retired. Then enter the expert review. Experts are not editors but authors’ peers. Expert reviews are sometimes repeated several times before they are published. Some retreat, and some retreat, the right to decide to revoke belongs to the editor. Reviewers are important, they play a consultant role. Post-publication reviews, including comments and suggestions from readers, are sometimes more important than pre-publication reviews. The value and quality of manuscripts should be the key points of the review. The value is to evaluate whether contributions are scientifically advanced, linked to reality (clinical journals), innovative and suitable for readers. Quality is based on its discussion of the subject, whether the design and method can answer the question, whether the data analysis is accurate, whether the result supports the conclusion, and whether there is any ethical problem. A paper that raises important questions and answers in a high-quality way is worth publishing, regardless of the outcome. Negative results are just as important as positive ones. Expert evaluation of the value and quality of the treatise is important, statistical review?
