2007年9月18日,由中央文明办、全国总工会、共青团中央、全国妇联联合举办全国道德模范评比表彰活动,53人获得全国道德楷模光荣称号,国家主席胡锦涛接见了全国道德模范并发表重要讲话,强调要高度重视和切实加强社会主义道德建设,为经济社会发展提供强有力的思想道德保障。在党中央印发《公民道德建设实施纲要》六周年和第五个“公民道德宣传日”表彰全国道德楷模,对于形成良好社会风尚、提高公民道德素质具有重要推动作用。
On September 18, 2007, the Central Civilization Office, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, and the All-China Women’s Federation jointly organized a nationwide commendation campaign on moral models. 53 people were honored as the national moral model. The President Hu Jintao met with the national moral model and published an important statement. The speech emphasized that we must attach great importance to and earnestly strengthen socialist moral construction and provide strong ideological and moral protection for economic and social development. The publication of the Sixth Anniversary of the Implementation Outline of Civil Morality Construction and the fifth “Civil Morality Propaganda Day” in the Party Central Committee commended the nation’s moral model and played an important role in promoting good social behavior and improving citizens’ moral quality.
