刘公岛是位于胶东半岛威海近岸的一个小小岛,就其面积而言,在我国沿海岛屿中根本排不上号,它远远比不上蓬莱的长岛,甚至不及邻近的养马岛、海驴岛等无名岛屿。刘公岛之所以比较知名,是因为近代史上那场著名的海战,是因为清王朝创建的“海军”--北洋水师的提督府就设在该岛,是因为邓世昌们的英勇和惨败,当然也得益于影片《甲午风云》。为纪念甲午海战110周年,威海市体育局和市委宣传部联合发起,邀请全国各冬泳协会派员集体游渡刘公岛。我随合肥冬泳队一行四人如约前往。事先查看旧版电子地图,方知威海城市规模不大,也没列入主要旅游城市。我在山大读研时,青岛、烟台,泰安、曲阜等都曾光顾,惟独没去威海,尽管当时已设威海分校,研
