西海固地区,经济不发达,文化比较落后,大部分在校学生知识面狭窄,兴趣不广泛.这就要求我们教师积极引导学生结合各学科特点开展一些课外科技活动,调动学生的学习热情,开扩学生思路,辅助课堂教学.现在,小学各年级都开设了自然课,在教学中,教师普遍感到,凡是与当地农业生产有联系的课文,都比较容易被学生接受.但有些章节学生就感到抽象,不好懂.如果我们在上课时辅之以一些小实验、小制作去提高学生的学习兴趣,加深学生的理解,就可以收到较好的教学效果.如我校三年级自然课教师想方设法让学生在课前做好实验和一些科技活动,像种子发芽(还简单讲了计算发芽率的方法),花草和树叶标本的采集、制作,参观气象站,指导学生动手写《天气观察日记》等.四年级自然课讲到“机械”知识时,教师一方面引导学生注意日常生活中诸如杠杆、滑轮等简单机械的应用,另一方面,让他们在课外动手搞些小制
