Objective To understand the mental health and coping styles of medical doctors who experienced medical disputes. Methods: A total of 200 physicians holding a medical professional qualification certificate were investigated by using SCL-90 and SCSQ, and those who did not experience medical dispute were regarded as blank control group. The results were analyzed by SPSS .12 statistical processing, and comparative analysis between groups. Results Physicians who experienced medical disputes were more likely to experience interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, hostility and other factors and coping styles than those who did not. The coping style points were higher than those of the senior doctors, and statistical test P <0.05 or P <0.01. Conclusion Medical disputes have a negative impact on the mental health of physicians. However, the more experienced physicians have, the less the negative impact is. Therefore, it is worthwhile to promote the experience of veteran physicians to physicians who are young and have not experienced medical disputes.
