糖尿病的定义是因胰岛素分泌不足或其作用不充分,或两者同时存在而形成的高血糖。胰岛素依赖性(1型)糖尿病(IDDM)需用胰岛素治疗,而各种口服抗高血糖药物可治疗非胰岛素依赖性(2型)糖尿病(NIDDM)。
Diabetes is defined as the formation of hyperglycemia due to inadequate or insufficient insulin secretion, or both. Insulin-dependent (type 1) diabetes mellitus (IDDM) is treated with insulin, whereas various oral anti-hyperglycemic drugs treat non-insulin dependent type 2 diabetes mellitus (NIDDM).
