“The ocean is not a trash can.” Experts point out that although the ocean has a strong self-purification capability, its capacity to contain pollutants is also limited. In a semi-enclosed bay such as the Bohai Sea, it takes hundreds of years to complete a seawater exchange with the open sea, and the serious pollution of seawater will be extremely troublesome. According to statistics, more than 80% of sewage and various toxic and harmful substances discharged into the waters of our country come from the land. In 1995, only 8.6 billion tons of sewage were directly discharged into the sea by coastal factories and cities and about 1.46 million tons of major poisonous and harmful substances were produced. China’s coastal pollution continues to develop In Dalian, the State Oceanographic Monitoring Center experts told reporters: China’s coastal environment degradation year by year, the scope of pollution has been expanded, the sea water is basically good, heavy metal pollution is better controlled, oil pollution The transfer of nutrients and organic pollutants to the southern sea areas will increase with the increasing frequency of sudden defacement events and aggravating marine ecological damage.
