思想政治课是一门帮助学生初步掌握马克思主义基本观点,树立科学的世界观、人生观和价值观的课程。但长期以来,“应试教育”的思想极大地影响了学生对政治课教材的整体把握和深入领会,严重挫伤了他们学习政治课的积极性,只求枯燥乏味地死记硬背,惟考试是图,严重背离了素质教育的主导精神,恶化了师生关系。为了改变以上现状,政治课教师首先必须端正教学态度,增强事业心和责任感,加强教育理论和专业知识的学习,变被动为主动,尽快从“应试教育”的束缚中摆脱出来,把素质教育落到实处,使得政治课教学尽快走到它应有的轨道上来。
