Atrial natriuretic peptide (Atrial natriuretic peptide, ANP) is the first isolated from the atrium of purified peptide hormones, with vasodilatation and promote water and salt discharge to maintain body fluid balance and other important role. Later confirmed by immunohistochemistry and other methods, some of the extra-ventricular organs such as ventricular, lung, brain, kidney, spleen and other organizations also have atrial natriuretic peptide, but not completely discharged from the tissue center atrial natriuretic peptide from the blood circulation. Only molecular hybridization confirmed that the organization has atrial natriuretic peptide gene transcripts, in order to be certain that the organization is the production of atrial natriuretic peptide. To date, the factors affecting the atrial natriuretic peptide gene expression, atrial-peptide synthesis and secretion remain to be elucidated, especially in the brain tissue. This paper reports the preparation of complementary RNA probe and molecular hybridization confirmed that the brain is the production of atrial natriuretic peptide, and water and salt balance significantly affect its atrial natriuretic peptide gene expression.
